A:  For quality laser etching of photos, images and lettering, we recommend clear detailed pictures. The etching is only as good as the picture we receive.  If the picture that you provide is blurry or pixelated, it may etch poorly. Professional photos are also preferable if available. You can email a digital photo to us or provide the original. Digital photos must be scanned at a resolution of at least 300 dpi and a size of 3″ x 5″ or larger when possible. Smaller images may be used and will be reviewed on an individual basis. You can email photos to us or upload them via our contact page with your contact information. If you want to provide original photos, it should be of good quality and 3″ x 5″ or larger.

A:  In stock monuments are completed within 8 weeks upon cemetery approval.  You will be provided with finished photos of your memorial before delivery. We must receive payment in full before delivery and install of monuments. Once delivery and install is completed, we will contact you. For cemeteries that do not allow us to install, we will contact you once delivery is completed and monument is at the cemetery. Please keep in mind that we are not responsible for any delays that may be caused by the cemetery or their subcontractors if installation by cemetery. All monuments that are not in stock, production takes 8-12 weeks for completion. All custom monuments takes approximately 90-120 days for shaping and polishing. It will then be ready for sandblasting and laser etching. Depending on the amount of personalization, production time will vary for each unique memorial.

Q: Am I limited to using your designs or can I provide one of mine?

A:  You may provide us a clear, detailed picture and we can use it. Images taken from the internet, please make sure resolution is at least 300 dpi. Image with resolution less than 300 dpi will etch poorly.

Q: What is the difference between sandblasting and etching?

Sandblasted designs are deep cut of simple line art with little detail.  Usually, the lines result in a dark appearance. We do not recommend sandblasting for portraits or photos as details will be lost. This technique can be used on all granite colours. Laser Etched designs are not cut as deep into the surface of monuments as sandblasted designs are. The result of laser etched imagery are finer details and the image is created on the computer. Best for portraits, not limited to detailed images, we can do line art by laser etching. For best results, black granite is recommended as the contrast is much more noticeably. However, we can laser etch on any granite colour. We do not recommend light coloured granite such as light grey granite.
